There are some important considerations to keep in mind when storing HDPE pipes after production. * Precautions against stacking should be taken and the recommended height should be 1 meter. The suggested lining for coils is silage. It is important not to overbalance in the coils which are taken individually. Flat pipes should be arranged horizontally in order and should not be angled between bottom row and top row. Sliding of the pipes should be prevented with side supports.

Stacking of pipes: Pipes must be stored away from sharp objects in a horizontal plane. The PE fittings must be stored in a closed package. • PE pipes and fittings should be protected from waste water, dirt and soil.

  • What should be considered in the transportation of HDPE pipe?

PE pipes kept at freezing point or lower temperature become more vulnerable to impact.

For this reason, the pipes must not be dropped, quickly dragged on the ground, should not be hit.

Pipes must be in the full length of the pipe to be transported during the transportation of PE pipes and the pipe should not hang out of the vehicle. Pe pipes and fittings must not be thrown at the rope or chain when they are being transported from the vehicle after finishing the transportation. The use of a crane or forklift is the recommended method of offloading.

  • What are the methods of connection polyethylene pipes or fittings?

    The polyethylene is connected to the pipe by means of mechanical fittings, which are melted together to join the pipes or fittings. Various fittings for pipes other than polyethylene can be connected to the transition adapters developed in accordance with the flanges. Known connection methods for PE materials;

    1) Electrofusion (EF),

    2) Butt-fusion

    3) Socket Welding

    4) Flanged Connection

Before welding, check whether the pipe mouth is at right angles to its own axis. If there is no right angle, the mouth must be cut and a right angle with its own axis must be provided.

Electrofusion coupler must be marked on the surface of the pipe to be worn. The welding size should generally be up to half the length of the collar. The marked cut should be excavated in a way that does not make it with the scraping apparatus.

    • After scouring, it must not be touched and protected from adverse weather conditions. The coupler is attached to the pipe and the system is fixed with the clamp if necessary.

The cables on the electrofusion welding machine are attached to the plugs on the coupler. The bar code on the cuff is inserted on the machine. Then welding is performed by applying tension to the coupler socket ends. It is also expected that the cooling process will be performed for the removal of the clamps.

Polyethylene is a workmanship that is more important than the quality of the pipe in pipe laying. In particular, the certification and reference of the welder who will do the welding operation is important, but the inspection is also required.

  • What are the advantages of electrofusion method?

It is possible to take direct exit from the main pipe by using electrofusion method.

      • Repairment of pipes are easy.

  • What is butt-welding method? What are the standards?

Butt-welding; is one of the most commonly used connection methods for the  polyethylene pipes and fittings. The two pipes to be welded and  heated and pressurized and pushed towards each other. The pipes can be welded up to a diameter of 1200 mm by using the butt weld connection method. The connectionmethod is carried out in accordance with the DVS 2207 standard.

  • What should be considered in the application of Butt-Weiding method?

The environment where the  welding will take place must be protected from the effects of unfavorable weather conditions.

The environment where the application will take place should not be below 5'C .

The person in charge of welding  should be educated and able to provide good reference.

The welding machine must have certificate.

The thickness of the pipes to be welded should be equal. If they are not equal, the difference should not exceed 10%.

  • What are the machines and equipments used in the welding method?

    There are 4 machines and equipments used in the butt welding method;

Shaving Unit: Used to make the pipe butt surfaces smooth. As a result of this machining, the dirt and oxide layer, which negatively affects the welding operation, is also cleaned.

Clamps: The equipment that keeps the threads in the tub when they are made. Only for each butt source different adjustments must be made in the pipes.

Heating Unit: Equipment consisting of heating elements used for heating pipes.

Hydraulic Unit: It is the axle that moves the jumps horizontally, providing pressure necessary for shaving, heating, joining Operation

  • What are the advantages of Butt Welding?

It does not require special insert to connect.

Additional parts such as elbow, "T",  can be easily produced with the butt welding.

It is easy to ensure that the welding machine is produced in our country as well.

Accessories are cheaper than other pipes.

Easily and safely applied for wall thicknesses greater than 3 mm.

It is a healthy and safe method

  • What is Socket weld and steps?

The pipe exterior surface and the fitting interior surface are heated up to the fusion temperature. After being inserted into the fitting, they are expected to move without cooling during the cooling process. The pipe is cut vertically and the part to be welded is cleaned. The bowl is heated with the sequence, joined and allowed to cool.

  • What is flanged connection and steps?

In this connection, the pipe welded adapter is installed. The main flange must be supported by the pressure flange from the rear side. Otherwise, leakage is inevitable. The printing flanges must be made of iron steel material. The flange bolts are 3 mm lower than the bolt hole. There must be a nut between the flange and the flange.

  • Is it possible to repaire Pe100 pipes?

The repairment of PE 100 pipes depends on the problem. If the damage is small, it can be repaired by heating or clamping with EF method. Another method that has recently been used in conjunction with the developing technology is the encapsulation, which is used by pipe manufacturers. For greater damage; this can be corrected by removing the damaged part and replacing it with a new piece. The damaged part of the pipe is insulated with clamping tools, the damaged part is removed and the new part can be put together by EF method.

  • What are the EF Connection parts and and usage areas?

EF Couplers: These are used in connections made by electrofusion method. Two pipes with the same diameter are inserted into this insert. With the current supplied to the resistors in the insert, it is ensured that both pipes adhere to each other.
