Kuzeyboru closed-loop geothermal systems use plastic pipes and fittings buried in the ground or submerged in water in various configurations.

The solution is achieved by connecting pipes and fittings, often called a ground-connected heat exchanger or simply ground loop, to a mechanical liquid source heat pump unit. The ground-connected heat exchanger is a source of thermal energy during heating cycles and a thermal absorber during cooling cycles.
