The Renewable Energy Production Project in Çanakkale from the World Bank preferred Kuzeyboru.

03 February 2023

Kuzeyboru, has been chosen for the infrastructure systems in the Underwater Operations project, which is a support project for Renewable Energy production in Çanakkale, from the World Bank.

Not only the superstructure, but also the infrastructure and submarine projects are preferred for our production, which is preferred for the transportation of Submarine Electrical Cables in the Çanakkale Strait. Our Kuzeyboru cable protection pipes were used in the third pair cable underwater line with a capacity of 1000 MW nominal per circuit, which spans from the Anatolian side to the Thrace side through a 4.5 km route by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Company (TEIAS). In the scope of the project, a pair of underwater electrical cable systems and an underground cable system with a capacity of 1000 MW nominal per circuit are being constructed, including the Izmit Gulf Passage and supporting structures.

This project contributes to the World Bank Turkey Country Cooperation Framework covering the 2018-2021 period, supporting the increase in energy security and green energy production. This project will also increase the integration of renewable energy in the private sector and support the competitiveness of energy production while deepening Turkey's sustainable growth. In addition, it is expected to increase energy security by developing domestic renewable energy sources and strengthen cross-border connection capacities with neighboring European countries through grid development.

Production with our technologies at full capacity, participating in large projects in our Republic's history for always being by our country's side is a proud work for us. Every step we take at Kuzeyboru is a guarantee for our future!
